The Invisible Weight

Private reflection tools

These reflection tools are practical, private, and small enough to begin. They are not productivity systems and do not ask you to become less caring.

The library includes a private check-in for noticing the load you may be carrying, an emotional labor log for tracking care and smoothing that become invisible work, and boundary language for creating a pause without overexplaining.

Use one useful thing at a time. The print editions also include a companion playbook with inventories, logs, prompts, boundary practices, and values exercises.

The boundary scripts include asking for time before answering, naming care without taking responsibility for everything, and separating the part you can help with from the whole situation. Adapt them to your circumstances or leave them unused. A boundary is information about capacity, not a performance of detachment.

The tools work at different distances. The check-in gives a snapshot, the emotional labor log makes repeated moments visible, and the boundary scripts help translate capacity into a sentence. You can use one tool once and leave it there. The goal is a more accurate next choice, not a new system to maintain. Nothing is scored for search engines, and no tool can determine whether a reader has a health condition; it can only help make one experience easier to describe.
